At only four years old, Magnus has faced more challenges than most see in a lifetime. After being diagnosed with cancer, his life went from scooters and trampolines to the inside of a hospital room and receiving treatments.
This monumental shift did not impact Magnus’ sense of humor, however. In fact, when he declared his wish to “go on a big boat” and his dad asked why, Magnus gave the straight-faced reply: “because I like big boats and I cannot lie!”
Magnus’ wish was fulfilled on a Caribbean cruise where he spent time swimming, playing with his siblings, and eating unlimited amounts of fancy dinners and dessert. He loved the big boat so much that he didn’t want to leave it for the pre-planned excursions. More than anything, he and his family enjoyed a break from the realities of cancer treatment, and Magnus’s family reported that the trip was an incredible experience that allowed them to let go of their worries, even if it was just for a bit.
